March Madness PTA Membership Drive - FAQ
1. What is the March Madness Membership Drive?
The March Madness Membership Drive is a fun, two-week PTA membership challenge where classrooms compete to have the highest percentage of PTA members. The winning class earns extra recess, and students who submit memberships will be entered into a raffle for prizes!
2. When does the drive take place?
The drive runs from March 17, 2025 – March 28, 2025. All entries must be submitted by Friday, March 28th at 3 PM.
3. Why should I join PTA?
PTA membership directly supports programs, events, and resources for students and teachers at Fern. It also gives Fern a voice at the local, state, and national levels to advocate for education and student needs. Plus, joining PTA helps build a stronger school community!

4. If I join PTA, do I have to volunteer?
No! While we always appreciate volunteers, joining PTA does not require any time commitment. Your membership alone helps support our school!
5. How do I join PTA?
New members can join online at Totem.
6. I am already a PTA member. Does my membership count?
Yes! Existing members must still submit the Google Form to ensure their membership counts toward their child’s classroom total and the student raffle.
7. Who can become a PTA member?
Anyone! Parents, students, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, and neighbors are all welcome to join PTA and support Fern!
8. How does the classroom competition work?
Each classroom’s total PTA memberships (new & existing) will be tallied, and the class with the highest percentage of members will win extra recess on Friday, April 4th.
9. How does the student raffle work?
Each membership submitted for a student will earn one raffle entry. Winners will be drawn during the assembly on Monday, March 31st.
10. What happens if we reach the schoolwide goal?
If we reach 50 new PTA members, all students will enjoy a PTA-sponsored Popsicle Party at lunch! (Date TBD)
11. Where can I track the competition?
The March Madness Leaderboard will be updated daily at FernPTA.org so you can see which class is in the lead!
