The Fern PTA Library Crew invites you to enter the 2026 Bookmark Design Contest! Please read the contest rules below. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative designs!
1. Theme: The bookmark design should reflect the Fern SOAR theme and be related to reading, books, libraries, or imagination.
2. Eligibility: The contest is open to all TK-5th grade Fern students.
3. Design Specifications:
Size: The design should fit within a 2" x 6" rectangle.
Medium: Designs can be hand-drawn or digitally created*.
Color: Designs must be in color.
We encourage artists to use the entire design area. Try to fill the frame and minimize white space to make your bookmark pop!
4. Submission Guidelines:
Each student can submit only one entry.
Entries should be submitted on an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper (see page 2).
Each entry should include the student's name, grade, and teacher's name.
Entries should be returned to the library during your classroom library visit.
*Digital designs must be printed
5. Deadline: All entries must be submitted by May 8th to the LIBRARY.
6. Judging Criteria:
Creativity: Originality and uniqueness of the design.
Relevance: How well the design reflects the theme of the contest.
7. Selection Process: The Fern PTA Library Chair will select 3 top designs to be voted on by the staff and students during their library visit the week of May 18th.
8. Prizes: The winning design(s) will be turned into a bookmark to be distributed in the school library in the fall.
9. Rights: By submitting an entry, participants agree that their design may be used for promotional purposes by the school, including but not limited to display in the library and on school/PTA websites and social media.
10. Additional Notes:
Entries that include inappropriate content or violate school policies will be disqualified.
All decisions made by the Library Crew are final.

Donate to Fern PTA | Your donation helps us purchase books, supplies, new bookcases and more for the library.
All TK-5 students will be allowed to check out one book during each weekly visit with their class. All books are due back by the next library visit.
If your student has a book that is overdue or multiple overdue books, they will be unable to borrow additional books until all items are returned. Your student will receive an overdue book notice to bring home as a reminder.
We do not charge late fees, but if a book is lost or damaged, please consider fulfilling an item from our Amazon Wish List.
Please remind your student to take care of the library books, so they can continue to be enjoyed by all.
